Saturday, August 15

So, Antoinette and Scott arrived at 10:30. We had coffee and talked about their trip. Scott took a nap on the mosquito-netted hammock and at 2:00 we left for wine tasting at the Bartlett winery. FUN! They bought some wine and we bought more. Then we bought 6 lobster (3 hard shell and 3 soft shell) right off the boat--for dinner. We drove around Schoodack Peninsula loop road and had many stops for scenic wonders. At the point we got out and walked down the rock cliff and sat watching the waves crashing at our feet with the ocean winds cooling us down (this was a pretty warm day for Maine).

We went back to the cabin and had a 3 1/2 hour dinner. Lobster, potato salad, cole slaw and 5 bottles of wine. We each had a hard and soft-shell lobster (except Bob who had hamburgers, AGAIN). Antoinette and I preferred the soft-shell lobster while Scott liked the hard shell, probably because he's a hearty eater and there's more meat in the hard shell BUT he says he thought it tasted sweeter.

Then we lit a fire and were up until 1:30 AM listening to music and talking. Antoinette fell over a rock and had a lump on her shin as big as her knee. I worried about it all night and when she woke up, there was barely a mark on her leg--Bob said it must've been a lymph vessel that swelled up. We had all been drinking a bit (LOL!) and we had all the lights out so we could catch the end of the Perseid meteor shower (which we did) The sky was incredible and the fire lasted until we went to bed.

Good time had by all, I think.
