Sunday, August 30

Sunday, Left Albany on Sunday morning (8:30) and arrived pretty early in Long Island. Bryn was upstate for the weekend, but she left us a key for her apartment. After a short nap, we were ready to go to the wake for Bob’s aunt, Eleanor, who had died two days ago. It was a very sad night because Aunt Eleanor’s husband, Uncle Jackie, who was Matt’s (Bob’s father) brother, looked and acted a lot like Bob’s dad. Two of his aunts were there, crazy Annie and the baby of his dad’s family, Reggie. Carmine, another character straight out of The Sopranos (the funny one) was there as well. Bob’s mother and two sisters were there as well.

The funeral home was very large and had a huge bird cage of finches, a huge aquarium, a play room for the kids, and stuffed animals everywhere.

We left the wake around 9:30 PM and on the way home stopped at a diner, one of many, many diners throughout Long Island. Most of the diners in Long Island are run by Greeks, so the Greek food is usually a good deal. I had moussaka and Bob had a huge sandwich like a Reuben.

Sunday night, Bryn, came home and was so tired that we chatted for a while and then she went to bed. We went to bed around midnight.
